Visiting Devon - Exeter & Dartmoor

Sunday morning Steve and I headed to Waterloo station to catch our train to Exeter for the Italy v Romania game with his childhood friend Adrian and his son Howie. To our surprise, the departure station changed and we had to catch a different train to Guilford and a very fast cab to Basingstoke. We made it only an hour late but with plenty of time for a few pre-game beers and pasties. (Cornish pasties are a hardy pasty filled with meat and potatoes - delicious!)

The next day we hiked Dartmoor - a rugged mountain area outside of Exeter. After a beautiful 5 mile hike to the reservoir, we headed to the Warren Inn - a pub in the middle of the wilderness with a fire that has been lit for over 100 years.

After an exceptional curry night, the next day Adrian drove us for the next part of our adventure - Southwind Estates, Polzeath Beach, Cornwall for our holiday with Uncle Rob and family! Julie was home to greet us and pop a bottle (or three) of fizz!
