Walthamstow to Kensington

Steve's brother - Carl Harris - has wonderful studio nestled upstairs from Mother's Ruin gin bar and factory. Nothing better than seeing the space where Carl creates. Two doors down is the home of Chris Bracey's neon workshop. What an eclectic village - Walthamstow.

My childhood bestie, Laila Aitken, has been hosting us at her home in Kensington and throwing some fabulous dinners. After our stay in Walthamstow, Carl and Kathryn came over for proper cottage pie from the Queen's butcher and loads of wine. Good times all the time!

On Sunday, Steve and I did some sightseeing - Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Eye... but the best part of the day was the Scotland v Samoa game and Wales v Australia. For the Scotland match we headed to bar down the road from Westminster Abbey and chatted up a local. A short while after we watched Australia's absolutely brilliant defense from Laila's living room, and we ended the day with the England match at the George - a member's only proper English lounge. We knew we couldn't wear sneakers but we were surprised when we couldn't don our English jerseys for the game. It got it a little warm in our jackets... but we loved the experience nonetheless.
